This medical examination is required for:
Those who need a medical examination as required by their taxi licencing authority. Medicals are done by an appropriately qualified doctor to DVLA Group 2 standards, or as advised by the relevant licensing authority. A questionnaire will be issued for completion by the employee's GP prior to the medical and the GP may charge a fee to complete it. For those with heart conditions there can be additional costs for treadmill tests.
Please note that licencing authorities have different arrangements for in place for medicals with some insisting that the examination is carried out by your own GP or their own appointed doctor. Please check your paperwork prior to booking a medical.
Elements of medical:
- Review of medical history, medication and GP completed questionnaire
- Review of lifestyle factors
- Visual acuity test
- Colour vision test
- Height, weight and BMI
- Urinalysis
- Otoscopy
- Blood pressure
- Full physical examination
- Any additional features required by licencing authority
Relevant paperwork is completed and advice is given regarding the outcome of the medical and any concerns that are highlighted.
